This 5 Days Rwanda Primates Safari will give you an opportunity to see both Mountain Gorillas and Golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park and Chimpanzees in Nyungwe National Park in Rwanda. On this Safari you will as well have great bird watching as well as sightseeing. This adventure trip is an all-inclusive trip that will start and end in Kigali.

Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On arrival at the Kigali international Airport, you will be met by our safari guide who will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park. The journey to the North goes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that display Rwanda’s landscape and the beautiful breathtaking land of over 1000 hills.

Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast you will drive to the park headquarters of Parc National des Volcans. There you will be briefed by the ranger guides. With your packed lunch you will then start the gorilla trekking through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga. You may have an option for visiting Ibyiwacu ex poacher’s village for cultural performance after tracking.

Golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park and transfer to Nyungwe National Park for overnight
After breakfast, you will go for the Golden monkey tracking which will take you approximately 2-3 hours. These golden monkeys are the most endangered primates in the Volcanoes. After the trek you will drive to Nyungwe National Park with stop overs along the way for photographs and en-route Lunch. Nyungwe Forest is the largest montane forest in Central Africa with 13 species of primates which include chimpanzee and large groups of Rwenzori colobus. Trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park is on steep slippery hillsides and viewing is unpredictable. Around 300 bird species, orchids and butterflies are other attractions.
Dinner and an overnight stay at Nyungwe Forest Lodge (Luxury). Top hill view hotel for mid-range, or at Gisa Kula lodge for budget accommodation.
Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe National Park
After breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters and attend to a briefing from the park warden on do’s and don’ts while tracking chimps. Then you will transfer to the starting point of the chimpanzee hiking trail. Expect to meet Chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, baboons along the trail. After that you will return to the lodge for relaxation, or you can instead choose to go for a guided natural walk in Nyungwe forest National Park.

Transfer to the Airport for your departure flight out to end the 5 Days Rwanda Primates Safari.
After breakfast you will transfer back to Kigali. You may wish to enjoy a city tour including a visit to genocide memorial site depending on your departure flight out. You will be dropped off at the Kigali International Airport to mark the end of 5 Days Rwanda Primates Safari
