Day 1

Arrival and transfer to Lake Kivu

Meeting you at your hotel (the Airport or any other location of your choice), your guide will take you on an insightful tour to see some of Kigali's fascinating history, culture, art and markets.
We optionally finish at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which is a very poignant and moving experience.

Stop for lunch at one of our recommended stops and then embark on a tranquil and immersive journey to the picturesque Lake Kivu. Begin your adventure by arriving in Gisenyi, a charming lakeside town nestled along the shores of Lake Kivu. Check into your lakeside resort and unwind with stunning views. Enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Kivu, exploring its tranquil waters and visiting nearby islands. Swim, kayak, or simply relax on the lakeshore before retiring for the night.

Day 2

Unwind and Relax at Lake Kivu

Wake up to the gentle lapping of waves against the shore and enjoy a hearty breakfast with panoramic views of Lake Kivu. Spend the day immersing yourself in the natural beauty and recreational activities offered by the lake. Take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront promenade, stopping to interact with local fishermen and artisans. For a more adventurous experience, opt for water sports like paddleboarding or jet skiing. As the day draws to a close, relax on the lakeshore, watching the sunset cast a golden glow over the horizon. Reflect on the tranquility of Lake Kivu and the memories made during your short but rejuvenating escape. 

Later in the afternoon after a good rest, get back on the road for a bout an hour and a half to Volcanoes National Park for overnight stay.

Day 3

Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Rise early for another thrilling golden monkey trekking experience. Follow experienced guides as they lead you deeper into the forest, where you'll encounter these rare and captivating primates once again. Spend the morning observing the golden monkeys as they forage for food and interact with each other in their dynamic social groups. After the trek, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodge before bidding farewell to Musanze. Reflect on the unforgettable moments spent with the golden monkeys as you depart for your onward journey, carrying with you memories of Rwanda's rich biodiversity and natural wonders.

Day 4

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, cross the border into Uganda and journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, another UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its population of endangered mountain gorillas. Enjoy scenic views along the way as you drive through rolling hills and lush forests. Upon arrival in Bwindi, check into your lodge and relax amid the tranquility of the forest. In the afternoon, take a get out with your guide and visit the Batwa community for the Batwa Cultural Experience, take time to understand the community that once leaved among the Gorillas in the wild. End the day with a delicious dinner at your lodge.

Day 5

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park

After your early morning breakfast, your guide will drive you to Ruhija Park Headquarters for briefing and joining others for briefing before heading into the forest for your gorilla trek. This trek can last for between 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the location of mountain gorilla family on that particular day. Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them while observing their behaviour, taking photographs before you return to the Park Headquarters for your certificate that confirms that you have tracked gorillas in Uganda.

Day 6

Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast we will drive to Kibale National Park for overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House. This journey will take you through Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will have chances of spotting some wild game as we drive through this Savannah dominated national park. You will also have another chance to cross the Equator at Kikolongo. You will also cross several Rivers that originate from Mountain Rwenzori as you go through Kasese district to Fort Portal. You will have a stop in Fort Portal towm for lunch before proceeding to checking-in at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House for overnight.

Day 7

ChimpTtrekking in Kibale and Bigodi Wetland Walk

After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale National Park Headquarters for briefing on the Dos and Don’ts of Chimpanzee trekking. You will be divided into small groups of six people headed by one guide who will then move with you into the forest to find one of the Chimpanzee families. Chimpanzees live in communities of between 50-250 individuals but usually breakup into small parties during the day to reduce competition on food. They will then recollect in the evening to build their nests. Once you find the Chimps, you will be allowed to spend one hour with the Chimps before returning to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you head out for wetland walk in the nearby Bigodi Village. Kibale National Park is popular for 15 recorded primates species and several bird species.

Day 8

Transfer to Entebbe for your Flight to Kenya

In the morning, transfer to the airport in Entebbe for your onward flight to Kenya, marking the end of your Uganda sector of the tour. Reflect on the unforgettable memories made during your time in Uganda as you embark on the next leg of your journey. Arrive in Kenya, ready to explore its diverse landscapes, abundant wildlife, and rich cultural heritage. Your adventure continues as you immerse yourself in the beauty and excitement of East Africa's safari destination.

Day 9

Lake Bunyonyi to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After the long trip that you have had so far, spend this morning re-energizing at the hotel and in the afternoon, take the opportunity to explore some of Nairobi's attractions such as the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust or the Giraffe Centre. Enjoy a relaxing evening and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 10

Transfer to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha, a picturesque freshwater lake surrounded by lush greenery and towering mountains. Upon arrival, take a boat ride on the lake, spotting hippos, water birds, and perhaps even giraffes along the shoreline. In the afternoon, explore Hell's Gate National Park on foot or by bicycle, marveling at its dramatic cliffs and rock formations. Wind the day while watching the beautiful sunset.

Day 11

Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for its flamingos and rhinos. Embark on a game drive through the park, spotting a variety of wildlife including lions, giraffes, and buffaloes. Visit the shores of Lake Nakuru to observe thousands of flamingos congregating along the water's edge. Overnight at a lodge or camp in the park.

Day 12

Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara

Depart Lake Nakuru after breakfast and drive to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp before embarking on an afternoon game drive. The Mara is known for its vast savannahs teeming with wildlife, including the Big Five. Keep an eye out for lions, elephants, and wildebeest during your game drive. Spend the night at your lodge or camp in the heart of the Mara.

Day 13

Masai Mara

Spend the day exploring the Masai Mara, starting with an early morning game drive to catch the animals at their most active. Witness the spectacle of the Great Wildebeest Migration (seasonal), as thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River in search of greener pastures. In the afternoon, visit a Maasai village to learn about traditional Maasai culture and customs. Overnight at your lodge or camp in the Masai Mara.

Day 14

Transfer to Northern Serengeti

After breakfast, bid farewell to the Masai Mara and cross the border into Tanzania. Drive to the northern Serengeti, a remote and wild region known for its spectacular wildlife sightings. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp before embarking on an afternoon game drive. The northern Serengeti is famous for its river crossings during the Great Wildebeest Migration (seasonal), offering thrilling wildlife encounters. Overnight at your lodge or camp in the northern Serengeti.

Day 15

Transfer to Northern Serengeti

Spend the day exploring the northern Serengeti, with morning and afternoon game drives to maximize your wildlife sightings. Witness the drama of predators stalking their prey on the vast savannah plains, and keep an eye out for herds of wildebeest and zebras traversing the landscape. Visit the Mara River, where crocodiles lie in wait for the migrating herds to cross. Overnight at your lodge or camp in the northern Serengeti.

Day 16

Drive to Central Serengeti

After breakfast, depart for the central Serengeti, driving through the heart of the park. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp before embarking on an afternoon game drive. The central Serengeti is known for its resident wildlife populations, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Explore the Seronera Valley, a lush area dotted with acacia trees and seasonal waterholes that attract a variety of animals. Overnight at your lodge or camp in the central Serengeti.

Day 17

Drive to to Ngorongoro Karatu

Enjoy a final game drive in the central Serengeti before departing for Ngorongoro Karatu. Descend from the Serengeti into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping for lunch en route. Arrive in Karatu, a charming town nestled on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater, in the afternoon. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at your lodge and enjoying the stunning views of the surrounding highlands. Overnight in Ngorongoro Karatu.

Day 18

Ngorongoro Crater Tour

Embark on a full-day excursion to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa's most iconic wildlife destinations. Descend into the crater, a vast volcanic caldera teeming with wildlife, including lions, elephants, and rhinos. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor surrounded by the breathtaking scenery. In the afternoon, continue your game drive, exploring different habitats and encountering a variety of animals. Overnight in Ngorongoro Karatu.

Day 19

Transfer to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp before embarking on an afternoon game drive. Explore the park's diverse landscapes, from open grasslands to dense woodlands, in search of wildlife. Keep an eye out for Tarangire's resident predators, including lions and leopards. Overnight at your lodge or camp in Tarangire.

Day 20

Departure for the Airport

After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive in Tarangire National Park, soaking in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. Return to your lodge for lunch before transferring to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight. Bid farewell to Tanzania, reflecting on the incredible experiences and memories made during your East African safari adventure.
