12 Day Uganda Primate and and Wildlife Safari

Our professional driver guide will pick you up at your hotel/Airport and drive to Murchison falls National park this journey takes about 5-6 hours’ drive and on your way, you will have a stop at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking and later proceed with your journey to the park, upon arrival you will visit the top of the falls where you will have a breath taking views of the waterfalls, and the stunning scenery, later you will proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight

You will have an early morning game drive for chances of spotting diverse wildlife such as herds of buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, Giraffes, Uganda Kobs, warthogs, luckily you may spot predators such as lions and leopards before they go back to their hiding areas, birders are not left out, you will be able to see a variety of bird species, after the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch and after lunch you will depart for an exciting boat cruise that starts at Paraa, this boat cruise takes about 2-3 hours, while on you cruise you will be able to see a concentration of hippos and crocodiles in water and herds of buffaloes, elephants along the water banks as well as a variety of bird species, after your exciting boat cruise you will drive back to the lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight

After a delicious breakfast, you will embark on your vehicle bid farewell to the lodge and drive to Kibale forest National park “The Primate Capital of the World” the journey takes about 6-7 hours driver you will have several stops along the way for photography and viewing of the stunning sceneries such as Rwenzori mountain ranges and traditional homesteads you will have lunch en route and later proceed with the journey, upon arrival you will check in at the lodge for relaxation from the long drive followed by dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters upon arrival, you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts of trekking while in the forest, you will be grouped into 6 people allocated to chimpanzee group, you will start your trekking at 8am and it may take about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on where chimpanzees are located, along the way, you will have a chance of spotting other primates such as vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkey, Grey cheeked Mangabey, Once you find these chimpanzees, you will spend one hour taking pictures, learning their behaviors, recording videos for memories, after one hour you will trek back to the park headquarters for your certificates for successfully accomplishing chimpanzee trekking activity, your driver guide will later transfer you back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation and after lunch you will depart for Bigodi wetland walk, this is a community initiative that was set up to support the local community and all the proceeds earned are reinvested back to the community to improve on their livelihoods.

After breakfast you will check out at the lodge and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park Kasenyi plains, you will have several stops along the way for scenic views and photography you will arrive in time for lunch and check in at the lodge have lunch and relaxation, you will later depart for afternoon game drive for wildlife viewing, you will be able to see a variety of animals while on this game drive such as herds of Buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, sometimes lions and leopards on luck, you will also see a variety of bird species and later return to the lodge for overnight

You will drive for an early morning game in Kasenyi Plains for chances of spotting a diversity of wildlife, on a lucky day you may spot lions and leopards while on your game drive, you will later return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation, and you will later have an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel that connects lake Edward and Lake George, you will have a chance of spotting diverse wildlife such as hippopotamus, crocodiles, Buffaloes, Elephants along the banks not forgetting a variety of bird species, you will later return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight. Note that you can also do a night game drive at an extra cost.

After breakfast you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts during trekking and later start your gorilla trekking experience, the journey can last between 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family you will choose to trek, Once you find these gorillas you will spend one hour observing their behaviors and taking photos and later return to the park headquarters to receive your gorilla trekking certificates to confirm a successful gorilla trekking in Uganda and later return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight

You will visit the Batwa for cultural experience these are the Indigenous people who lived in the forests of Bwindi before it was gazzetted as a protected area these people will experiment how they used to hunt, how they used to light fire, showcasing their cultural dances you will later drive to Mgahinga National park for relaxation followed by dinner and overnight

After breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts of trekking while in the forest, trekking starts at 8am it may take about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where these golden monkeys will be located, once you find these golden monkeys you will spend one hour with them taking pictures, observing their behaviors and later trek back to the park headquarters to meet your driver for a transfer back to the lodge
